Melodic birth to death chronicle with some pretty lead guitar work. I recorded this in 2009, when I was very sick and not sure whether I'd live or die or ever sing again. Lyrics below.

Story behind the song
The title came from the fact I attended what I thought might be the very last concert of my life, in a neighbouring city at the River Run Theatre. Of course, all went well and I lived to tell the tale and record the song.
Lyrics
Born into a loving home beside a sparkling stream, Playing with the other kids, life was as a dream, Learning how to deal with life and how to use one's head, Swimming in deep waters now, you have to learn to tread, As the river runs... You meet a girl and get a job and life becomes complex, You shoot the rapids like a pro, but guess what's coming next, Up ahead that water fall roars with all it's might, No matter how you steer the boat you can't deny the fright, As the river runs... The mist and fog begin to clear, you start to settle down, Maybe even dive right in, now you'll never drown, Then the channel widens out, the ocean comes in view, That great abyss inspires awe as it swallows you... As the river runs...
